New Delhi: On January 16, 2024, Ampere's electric scooter, called Nex Big Thing, from Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), the e-mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited, started a 5,100-kilometer trip from Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari. According to the firm, the trip would showcase the electric scooter's strength, functionality, and design.

The e-scooter will travel the full length of the nation in more than 45 days, negotiating a variety of terrains and stopping at notable towns and cities along the way. According to a press statement from the corporation, this voyage is expected to completely transform India's electric transportation market.

The design of Ampere's Nex Big Thing is centered on sustainability and creativity. It makes style and speed accessible to everybody, transforming it into a high-performance, family-friendly, contemporary car. The innovative aspects of the scooter are cleverly divided into two categories: Nex.IO, which is the brain—a cluster and software—and Nex.Armor, which is the brawn—the frame, motor, battery, and design.

The scooter boasts one of the lightest operating systems and brightest touchscreens available, which enhances the riding experience with smooth navigation and communication. The scooter is an exceptional example of a fusion of rich tradition and modern design, inspired by the Arctic Tern, a bird that is known to cruise around the globe, including an unusual stopover over Kanyakumari. Indian design features are also included into the design. Beyond only showcasing the scooter's mechanical prowess, the historic trip from Kashmir to Kanyakumari honors the vitality and variety of India. It traverses the wide tapestry of the country's landscapes, gastronomic customs, and civilizations, all of which exhibit mutually beneficial relationships.

Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited CEO Sanjay Behl stated: "The Nex Big Thing by Ampere is a revolutionary vehicle that is about reimagining mobility for a sustainable future—it's not just about transportation." During its voyage from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the scooter is expected to overcome difficult terrain and establish a connection with the core of Indian identity, which is a dynamic blend of history and modernity, resilience, and communal spirit."

With this voyage, Greaves Cotton's 164-year-long rich tradition of engineering expertise and Ampere's 15-year leadership in EV production come to a new chapter. GEMPL, with its extensive nationwide network and dedication to providing outstanding customer service, is well-positioned to transform the electric scooter industry with Ampere's Nex Big Thing.
